3 Ingredient Natural Deodorant

Dropping the recipe along with all the details and links right here. First, I want to preface: this is my everyday method of deodorant (and no, I do not smell…come on, I am crunchy, but not weird). This is a lighter deodorant and I am not a heavy sweater. In the summer, or when I know I might be sweating more I do use a natural store bought stick deodorant, which I will link below. Let’s get started!

3 Ingredient Natural Homemade Deodorant (PART ONE)

  • 1/4 cup organic arrowroot powder

  • 1/2 cup organic cold pressed coconut oil (to start)

  • 4 drops tea tree oil (and optional 15 drops lavender oil)

Directions:

In a large bowl, add the arrowroot powder and oils. Add the coconut oil until you have a smooth paste (almost like cookie dough, but smoother).

Start with 1/2 cup and add small increments until you feel it is suffice to smooth on your underarms. Use a rubber spatula to spoon into a glass ball jar with resealable lid. I only use wide mouth jar and wide mouth lids in my house for ease.

PART TWO

  • Old clean crew or tall sport sock (I know you have one laying around without it’s mate).

  • Arrowroot powder

Directions:

Add some arrowroot powder (maybe 1/2 cup) to the sock, shake it down and knot it shut.

This will become your “blotter.” Use the step one deodorant above and then simply blot this several times under your arms. The powder will work its way through the sock and similar to a finishing powder that will seal in the goods, and soak up any minimal perspiration.

I have been using this method for YEARS, and it works fantastic for me. The tea tree is KEY, along with the lavender because both kill bacteria. I used Madison Vining’s Wildflower oil in my last batch (as pictured) which is very floral. Use whatever brand oils you like! I even tagged some on the first link (whole foods brand).

I know everyone’s chemistry is different, but I surely hope this works for you- and I can continue to help you live a little more simplistic and also a toxin less lifestyle.

If no one has told you today, you are BEAUTIFUL! I mean it.

With love, Anna
