chickens, chicken lady, chicken blogger

With a coffee in one hand & a chicken in the other…

This is me, Anna.

I grew up in ND-MN and worked as a RN, BSN, PHN for the last 11 years, while balancing my nursing career with family photography. I’m creative by nature and love to make all things beautiful. I’ve been married for 12 years to my husband, Cash and we have 3 boys that surely keep us on our toes.

We custom built our modern Scandi farmhouse on the land we’ve always dreamed of in 2020. Here, we are keepers of chickens, growers of flowers, and food. We love room to roam, to hunt, to play and best of all- to share what we have, we learn and do with you. We value local, homemade and homegrown.

I truly appreciate you being here.

What is “Call It Christian?”

We believe homes should be beautiful—beautiful places to steward what we have been given. Places to set the atmosphere for all who enter.

Ways to have good conversations and live with intention.

We believe in simple living. Not minimally, but certainly not maximally, either. We believe in a well-balanced home.

We love mixing old with new and staying true to our roots.

Our kids make messes, but they also know how to respect nice things.

Our house isn't always clean, but we know houses are made for living. Household duties become a joy when you know that you're doing something more significant than just scrubbing the floor.

We believe in "yes ma'am's and no sir's," and being kind to everyone is essential, even though we may disagree with their choices.

We love all people.

We thrift, we yard sale, we create. We get dirty. Not everything needs to be expensive. A pretentious, showy life is an empty life, while a simple life is a full one, and we've worked hard for everything we have.

This is calling it christian, and we are SO glad you are here!
